Having thought that I was pretty much OK after the interval session yesterday, I had a go at my usual 8k out-and-back.
My calves felt tired pretty much from the outset but I was sure I could run through that. The wheels came off after about 5k.
As you can see here, there was just nothing in the tank for the downhill run and I really had to grit my teeth to keep going. I'll be taking a few days off to recover and will work on treating future efforts with a bit more respect.
On the plus side, if it's leaving me in that sort of state, it's got to be doing me some good, right? Right?!
