Midzomernacht Run

This was actually last night and, I have to say, it was absolutely fantastic.  I had opted for the longer distance (15 km) and just for once got there in plenty of time.  After picking up number and T-Shirt, I had plenty of time to walk around, warm up and mingle in the crowd.

The run itself started in the rain but the weather didn't really try very hard and before we left the initial loop round the start area, it had stopped.  As darkness proper fell, it was clear that Gent was beautiful with all the buildings lit in the cool summer evening.  I tired a lot in the last few kilometres but was still pleased with the overall time of just over 1 hour and 35 minutes.  Definitely a good experience.
