A little research

I've been looking into this by making my usual assumption:  There will be a consensus on the web and it will probably be along the right lines.

I've found numerous training plans and suggestions for getting fit through running.  The overwhelming theme is that you need to learn to walk before you can run.  This is more literal than figurative in my case and the most popular recommendation is to do this for 6 weeks before you even go near jogging.

Sounds a little conservative to me but, as I know nothing, let's see how we go.  Thatwould mean I need to do regular walking until, er, mid-October before I start to jog.
